Description
This picture was taken outside Kadena AB in Okinawa. As we were walking these streets we noticed an occassional whiff of sewage. We realized that some of the streets had open sewage ditches below the sidewalk that were covered with concrete tile and if there was an occassional gap between the tiles the smell of sewage escaped. It was something I had never seen in any city before.
This picture was taken in March 1984 and later scanned.

where I stayed at in the province Batangas I seen people dumping their trash in the open street sewer ditch.I guess they think since it is not in their sight anymore, it is gone.very candid street scene

It probably just these women - maybe they are related somehow, but those legs looked awfully bowed to me! I love the mood of this and the ordinary view that is really such a treat - we can watch them and they can't see us. LOL And for Jock500...you can get the same effect by walking down Bourbon Street in New Orleans on a warm, sultry morning - and it isn't faulty sewers tha does it...:-I

It's 18:30hrs here Sig and I have the light on because it is dark outside, and yes it is absolutely pouring out of the sky. A great street scene here, although the rain is coming down it still has plenty of colour with all the street signs and adverts. Seeing these signs has made me hungry, I fancy King Prawn Fried Rice now. It's the Oriental image and the sign for food. I will resist temptation though. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
