Description
The title of this photo is a summary of what is hoped to be done at the raptor center which has so graciously allowed me to be part. As humanity takes more habitat and encounters with raptors likely increase, I hope people will know me meaning the birds and have enough knowledge not to harm this part of nature. I hope people will know something of care and concern. How to react when an injured bird is found and when a young bird is best left alone to learn from its parents and not "adopted" are but two important lessons. This is part of the reason I am doing these photos. Indeed, I have many rewards with each visit.
This elderly Red Tailed hawk is a real lady. I will likely not post more of her soon and will try for other birds. She would be dead in the wild, many years ago. In the center, she does have life...certainly she is not soaring and hunting in the wild but the reason she came to this place is because of injury she could not do that anymore. At least, now she can live, be fed a fine diet and fly the little she can. Her life is given to education of people. She is a doll and I spent a while speaking with this hawk before the photo was taken. She has learned who I am, at least recognizing me when I enter her area and not reacting as in the first visit. I am loving every minute of this project and truly hope when completed and in the hands of the raptor center, my work will assist in bringing some knowledge to others.
I left a touch of softness on her feathers for this render.

Tom, I am so glad you had an opportunity to be a photographer for a bird park. You deliver so wonderful captures of these bird of preys.
What a beautiful picture. These birds in the wild give me a wonderful feeling just to watch them fly. I have a pair of falcons nearby where I work and see them every morning teaching their young. We have to protect these fine creatures. Thanks for your help and pictures. One picture goes a long way in educating people.
All this is very encouraging, and both you and the centre are indeed doing some fine work on this project, very well done to you. Oh! and I thought that a couple of extra words would be nice at the end of the title, such as Love Me, what do you think? This is a great shot and the most beautiful bird, who as you say wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the tireless work of the people in the rapto centre, they are doing a wonderful job. Thanks for all you do to inform us about these wonderful birds, and your fabulous photography, hugs Jane xx
