Description
When I was a kid, I would raise an eyebrow and make a face to look "cool". This Eastern Screech Owl has outdone me totally. Sure, I have some classic shots of this owl but this one is cute. : ) With their call, these quite small nocturnal hunters have put fear into hearts of the unexperienced in the night woods.
Size: Female average Length:23cm (9.2") Wingspan:56cm (22") Weight:208g (7.3oz)
Male average Length:21cm (8.2") Wingspan:54 cm (21") Weight:200 g (7oz)
This owl is named Peanut. The large enclosure is exposed on three sides to the outside and the owl has chosen the more secluded back wall for daytime rest.

awwwww...this is fantastic!!! it gave a smile to my face XD thanks!
Birds will perform, and clown around, for people. Checked out much of your gallery. Interesting that some predator birds do NOT have gender color differences. Some colorful male songbirds maximize this as you know. This is the best, bird-performer capture I have ever seen!!!! Great shot!
