Description

(BEST VIEWED FULL SIZE!) Aranée had heard them for miles, clanking their weapons and armor without regard for the noise. Rough men like these didn't feel the need for stealth, and it was usually fatal for anyone they caught alone and in the open. She wasn't too worried about being heard above their ruckus, but she did not want to be seen by them. Horses were far too expensive for most people in the Disputed Lands to own or maintain, and that meant horsemen were usually raiders or outlaws. Spying their green cloth and decorations, she knew these were the worst of the lot - Greeners. They went wherever they wanted and stayed as long as they cared to stay. They took whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted, and occasionally that included women and children. Items they took, including people, were never seen again. She didn't mind taking on one or two thieves in order to preserve order in her small corner of the Aeritan Forest, but four heavily armed and armored Greeners was another matter. She backed away as quietly as a woodland vole and melted into the forest. The next town up the road, Melius, was in for a really bad time... --- TO BE CONTINUED! Great story a-building. Just found your gallery and am now up to speed on Aranee. Excellent graphics to develop the story thread. This one is best viewed at full size - suggest you add that hint in your text. Dick

Great POV on this one - very inventive! I am amazed that you could get such a natural setting out of DS. It really is impressive. The only slight flaw in this is that old ground-shadow problem, as evidenced around her hand. Still, that is a very minor point in an otherwise outstanding image. You are really an expert at integrating the narrative with the image. Every single image is a cliffhanger. I am green with envy! Must...see...next...image! Bravo!
