Description

Another shot from my D.C. trip with my daughter. Here we are on the corner of Louisiana and Constitution Street in one of the famous(?) DC Duckboats. The "DC Ducks" provides land and sea tours of Washington DC while aboard WWII amphibious vehicles. You can sort of see us if you zoom in. We're in the middle above the red "C". I'm the one with the camera and Erin is smiling in her fashionable sunglasses. We had just stopped moving and I noticed you could see our reflections in the building...and said, "There we are!" This is why all of the words are backwards. It reminded me of a parallel universe. Thanks again for stopping in. Jodie Please visit my personal website...

How clever! I thought at first you had taken a picture of the amphibious conveyance through a window. I should have known better considering the backward printing. Looks like a miniature Noah's Ark. LOL at Kimariehere's "Indian Jones" comment.

Nice shot. I am not sure how many of the Ducks actually saw service, but they were "hot stuff" in parades and such back when I was a kid during the Cold War. Simpler times, yet wondering if we might be nuked during bedtime prayers was not the most ideal way to grow up. Some mental shrinkage and warping may occur during the aging process in such conditions.

quite wonderful & strange, one of those shots that gets several worlds all jammed into one...the duckboat-bus (which is strange by any account!), the beautiful bushes in the foreground, the strange mirror-window with those funny brackets (or whatever they are) holding the glass in place, and all those background layers in the reflection. You wanna look at it for a while to see what's reflected & what's real. Also I love the yellow, white and red of the bus & car, they're very bold. A lot of fun, the kind of shot photojournalists wait for, and a good start for 401!

I've done the duck boat tour in Boston and Seattle. I didn't know that there was one in D.C.! Great photograph! I'll have to book another trip to D.C.!
