Description
La Boca is Buenos Aires' most colorful barrio. In the late 1800s it was settled by French Basques, and poor Italian and Spanish immigrants who worked in the meat packing plants and warehouses along the Riachuelo.
It was here that around 1880 the tango was the vulgar dance and music of the capital's arrabales, or fringes, blending gaucho verse with Spanish and Italian music.
This picture was taken on 23 November 2006.

very candid capture and what an expression the lady has, like she could either devour or kill
Greetings Siegfried, There are a number of interesting elements in this image, especially the interaction between the couple and her looking at you. I wonder what this photograph might be like when altered to a black and white with a second tone, as it might give a nostalgic look of the 1930 or 1940's appearance. Thank you for sharing. egmont
