Description
I got to Oregon on Thursday, and Friday morning Jill and I drove to Smith Rock. It's a pretty amazing place! I took lots of pictures, and I'm going to make you look at more than just these two! :)
Do you see that almost perfect, dark circle in the large image? It's just to the left of center, near the top of the cliff. I couldn't figure out what it was, so I zoomed way in and got a couple shots, hoping I could learn more once I uploaded the pictures to my computer. It worked! :)
And do you see the trail that runs at a diagonal up the rock face on the right-hand side? Jill tells me that's called Misery Ridge. I sure wouldn't want to climb it! Yikes!
I made these images nice and big, so if you check 'em out in full view, you'll be able to see more.

Amazing place, Tara! wonderful photos, I wonderf if you can find out how the perfect hole happened.
nice shots:)
Well ... it's either a cave - or Oregon has damned big termites! Majestic scenery, and beautifully captured. Mike
Fantastic landscape and super shots.
LOL! Mike hihihi! This is so darn interesting. Cant there be somewhere to read about that cave... we MUST know what is inside. We just MUST !!! But do me a favor, dont climb down there. :))) Excellent shots indeed. I am looking forward to see more.
That is so perfectly round it has to be man made, there has to be a story here somewhere Tara. That trail looks pretty inviting to me, if I was fit and there I would just have to explore. Superb captures both. Bravo!!!!!
Great shot! Excellent
wonderful shot! My son is in Oregon this week, so wave at him if you see him LOL..
Excellent,(and shouldn't someone tell Mike that the really big termites live in Texas?) A series to look forward to, Tara!

one big hammer action drill i guess
Fantastic capture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can see the trail now Tara, but only after you pointed it out, this is an amazing picture, those colours are just so beautiful, nice one!
beautiful capture...
It's probably called Misery Ridge for a very good reason; it looks pretty miserable all right!! Grest fotos; love how you showed us both views; can't wait for more!!
Superb photos and thanks for the zoom on the details. Great presentation and gorgeous colors.
Great shot... great zoom!
Excellent capture(s) -- I agree, it's likely called Misery Ridge for a reason!
So beautiful my friend!!!
excellent format for this excellent shot !!
Hi Tara May wonderful capture so many colors and how they shine sweet smile to you warm hug and love, Linda Kaye
Must of been one big gold nugget they found there lol. Beautiful blend of ochers and amber colors. Great rugged landscape.
That cave and the trail are really cool, and looky that purpule in the mountains, excellent!.
this is something. nice fine too. cool images
I love the colors in this. This place is very popular for rock climbing and the rock climbers have a lot less fear than I do of heights and/or falling. It is a lovely place to visit but I'll keep my feet on the ground.
stunning captures and I see it. looks almost man made, maybe from mining. I would like to walk on the trail. someone else posted a couple pictures from this area of Oregon before, but I like yours better
I couldn't find anything about that cave, and I don't know anything about it. I've never stopped there, since I'm not a climber, although I've driven past a million times. So you get to show me something about Oregon. I'd say you're off to a good start; this is a gorgeous shot.
