Description
This F-117 is being refueled somewhere over the US Southwest. The Lockheed-Martin F-117A 'Nighthawk' was developed by Lockheed's famous 'Skunk Works'. It is the first operational aircraft designed to exploit low-observable stealth technology.
It is subsonic and carries all armanent internally. It is designed to deflect radar and the exhaust from the two engines is dispersed and deflected to lower the infrared signature. The aircraft primarily operate at night during combat operations. They were successfully used during Desert Storm, in Bosnia and again in Iraq in 2003.
This picture was taken in 1998 and later scanned.

I realize that I was fortunate to photograph some of these. I had the opportunity to go on a night refueling mission of the B-2, but unfortunately it is impossible to take pictures at night. Thanks for the comments, Sig..

Exceptional image Sig.. Quite extraordinary some of our RAF aircraft that required refuelling in the air requires the tanker to dive in order to match the jets minimum speed.
