Description
Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image.
On Sunday and Monday I posted images of a Blue Dasher. I mentioned that it appeared to be a female but possibly was a male. I am now sure it was a female.
I say that because today's posting is of a young male Blue Dasher and I can compare the genitalia, lol.
Tomorrow I will post an image of a mature male Blue Dasher.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

Look at that big hunch-back! I wouldn't even know where to start looking to figure out the sex but I guess you can just flip it over like you do a cat or dog... Fabulous shot and another great pov.
I like the details and shutter speed. Good job.
Very nice!
Beautiful macro.... Outstanding job. Aloha
I'ts nice to know there are other folk out there who spend some of their leisure time sexing invertebrates, Lee! Great shot!
Great image, you have captured stunning detail and colour. I love dragonflies as a subject they are so bizzare up close. I do know how difficult it is to sex them. The newly emerged ones don't have there true colours for a day or two, how confusing is that!
another great macro
fantastic macro work
Amazing details!!
Great photograph! Well done.
Absolument, MAGNIFIQUE.
I see what you mean about the tail being blue on this one Lee, I love any of your Dragonfly shots, they are usually very detailed. I like the details of the feet in this one and the way it clings onto the twig for a sun. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!
Beautiful capture. Your macro captures are gorgeous as always. Bunny
Fantastic! Wonderful work!! Roby ;O)
Superb macro.
