Description
Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image.
I see quite a few of these colorful little immature Katydids but I seldom get good shots of them because they are very wary and jump at little or no provocation. They can cover quite a distance when they jump and usually I loose sight of them. This one held it.s ground long enough to get a good focus, lol.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

You really make me/us discover such incredible creatures ! Thank you for this fantastic expolration of the little world in your garden, Lee !
I never would have guessed what this was. It sure doesn't look like the finished product, huh? But then, so many insect totally change their appearance when they mature. Wonderful focus and clear lighting make this a real treasure shot.
Excellente image, magnifique spécimen.
brilliant macro capture once again lee!!!.....
It even looks cute, like baby most things, strange how nature does that in insects as well as animals that need mothering.
The sharpness of this is fantastic Lee, well worth the eextra click to enlarge. Those back claws look wicked, as though they could do damage and those two sharp looking spikes on the rear of the body. I know they are quite small really and they would not do that much harm, but when you get up close and view them full size on this 22 inch monitor, they look seriously dangerous. Lol. Fantastic capture and presentation. Bravo!!!!!
Wonderful macro of this hopping guy!
Top Class macro work, and thanks for your patience to capture him.
