Description
Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image,
This is the 2nd shot in a series of 3 that show this little spider. He/she would fit on one of my finger nails but they act like they are the biggest baddest boys on the block, lol.
There are numerous species of crab spiders that come in a variety of colors and patterns but they are all rather small and are bold hunters. They don't spin webs but actually stalk and pounce on their prey.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

Great detail in your Crab spider photos. I found it very difficult to focus on these little critters.
Great details, excellent close-up.
Eeeewww - nasting looking fellow but a great shot of him! No matter how small - I'm petrified of spiders! xx
This shot shows the craggy surface even better; looks good against the purple.
Wonderful macro.
I think this one has a slight edge on the previous one Lee, he/she stands out a lot better I think, those tiny hairs showing best on the right. I think the eyes are a tad sharper on this as well. Superb capture and presentation. Bravo!!!!!
Wonderful macro with a lot of details. Great colours

As in the first, the clarity is amazing. The eyes are very visible and the texture of the abdomen is amazing. Spectacular capture.
