Description

Today I'm on holiday so I decided to actually learn Poser (especially the boring bits)and do a little experiment to see how much realism I could get into a render without copious amounts of postwork. Those who follow my stuff will know that I rely heavily on postwork because I can't be bothered with the intricacies of Poser so... I had a few requests from people who want to know how I do things so here's what I learned... The material room is a pain in the brain - 7 tutorials is not enought LOL The cloth room is much easier than I expected Lighting and good textures are everything Not to consider throwing my computer out of the window too seriously :-) This is what I used GND4 for V4 - some may think it's a little expensive but it's such a terrific product - I used both the default morphs and textures and did nothing to alter the character that came with the product Vanessa hair from DAZ with the default Vanessa textures The HD lighting that came with Poser 7 (Pond AO) The vest is a dynamic freebie here at Rendo After 20,000 renders (slight exaggeration) I exported it to Photoshop and adjusted the levels slightly - the only other postwork I did was used the dodge and burn tools to bring out the shadows and highlights and as is my preference I also de-saturated it a bit cos I can't be doing with Poser-generated orangy/pink skin. The postwork in all took 20 minutes The background is a stock photo of clouds against a white background - I used the lighting filter on the background to replicate the direction of the light on the render. I then merged the layers and smudged the outline of the character into the background so it didn't look pasted on. Here is the result - hope you like
