Description
This is the same heron as yesterday's upload, but that was shot at 230mm, and for this one I zoomed all the way in to 400mm to get more of him into the frame and to get rid of some of the very messy background.
I think this shows the sun shining through his beak better; I love the translucent look it has.

Great close up capture Dennis, looks like the metering has picked up the back feathers for the most details, in this instance I would try for spot metering on the facial area for more head detail, it would also give more DOF
