Description

A little better view of the white-winged dove. PJ was wondering if the blue ring around the ring is only on the males. Actually, both males and females look alike. But seeing as it is nearly March, and judging from the missing feathers on the neck just below the black crescent, I'm guessing that this is a female dove. I'll let you put two and two together. Keep an eye on that one...she looks like a loosy-goosy to me! :-) Great shot. On my white doves I know a blue tint on the eye or top of beak was a male during breeding season but it was so faint I never really saw it. My best guess was twice a year when I caught each one and checked it over for any health problems. If it was missing belly feathers it was generally female. Love this capture of yours.
