Description
Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image.
Here is a 2nd image of a critter I have shown before. This was taken early last Dec. It is a "Wheel Bug". If threatened, it is reported that they can deliver a very painful puncture with that long beak. I have handled them on a number of occasions and apparently I never threatened any because I have avoided any injuries, lol.
I have also managed to avoid any injuries to my back during my recent work on my house. I hope to have the 2nd floor insulation, wiring, and sheet rocking, finished within a week or so. I found a good deal on-line for a hand cranked panel hoist that lifts the sheet rock up to 11 feet off the ground. That certainly helped in doing the ceilings without aggravating my back condition.
Thanks to those who find the time to comment.

Lee, you knock me over with this. The details are amazing. I know I see bugs like this all the time but I guess I never REALLY see them. Exciting update on the house! :-)

That is one terrifyingly ugly creature. Excellent photo of it, though.
WOW.Excellent macro and detail.
Beautiful macro!
A most wonderful design for a creature! I wonder how the wheel bit evolved.
Now this is one cool looking insect, excellent macro
I think theres an underground research lab near your place Lee and these little critters keep escaping.lol. Excellent capture, I think this is the King of the Ugly Bugs. Hasn't he got the weirdest face, I wonder if it pierces, what ever it eats and just sucks up through that huge beak? Certainly one of the strangest bugs I have seen. Nice to hear an update on the house Lee, and so glad you got a good deal on the panel hoist, the last thing you want is your back to go. Fantastic work, both bug and house. Bravo!!!!!
