I saw a lot of these for several weeks in the middle of November. They are not common year round.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

I'm glad you took the picture. I can't get close to them in case they sting. They are beautiful. I have never seen any this color befre. Splendid macro shot with fantastic clarity. Bunny

stunning capture with wonderful colors...great image
Great shot of the bees.
I don't remember ever seeing these before but then, anything that goes buzz produces the Bee Dance so quickly in me that I don't get a good look at the source. Excellent capture.
Great capture. I have never seen these before, they are beautifully colored, like an Opal.
S W E E T bees indeed!
Fantastic close-up.
Fascinating! I've heard of these but never seen even a pic before.
Another first for me also Lee, seems like most of us have never seen this beautifully coloured gem before. Are you sure you don't live in area 51? lol. You certainly have your fair share of mother natures miracles in your neck of the wood. Excellent capture, the clarity and detail on the right hand bee is fantastic. Bravo!!!!!
Un regalo para la vista.
Wonderful macro! And with a 7900! Impressive!!
