This afterglow was observed at White Sands National Monument located between Las Cruces and Alamogordo, New Mexico. The San Andres Mountains are in the distance. This picture was taken on 1 October 2004.

Greetings Siegfried, It has been many decades since I have been to Arizona, though i know this picture was taken in New Mexico, a place i would like to visit one day, but the point i am trying to make with Arizona and New Mexico is that their sunsets are very similar and this image reminds me of one.
