Description
This is looking across the Columbia River from Ilwaco, Washington, back toward Oregon. The boathouses in the foreground belong to the Coast Guard and around the corner to the right is the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse
I've mentioned a couple of times how rough and dangerous the Columbia River Bar is; I like the contrast between that and how quiet and peaceful it is here, just inside the bar, on the river side.

I live in New York and we have much beauty here also but we have snow! I can deal with rain.I love rain. You are very blessed to be where you are!

Wonderful clarity and lighting. I love the varied tones and shades of blue , the super reflections in the water and the way the eye is drawn towards the lovely blue mountains in the background. Very pretty indeed!!
I also send congratulations on LWITG as well as congratulations on this shot. The swells in the river are awesome. The river is awesome in its size. What power it has even in a placid state.

It is interesting what a difference you can find on different parts of the same river. Lovely image.
I like this shot with the hills in the background, the still water with the pretty reflections in the foreground, and the island in the middle. It looks very peaceful and calm.
