good morning one and all :o)
todays shot is of the only stained glass window on the little st mary magdalene church in yarm .this shot was taken on the same day as the other shots in this series .
some info for you :o)
The current church building is the third to stand on the site. The first was a wooden saxon building of which no traces remain. A norman church was built in the late 12th Century and remained until 1728 when it razed by fire. The present georgian church was built from the remains of the second in 1730.
on the plaque at the side it reads "in memory of the rever`d thomas dixon late master of the free grammar of kirby ravensworth.rector of wilton,st andrew & st mary.droitwich worcestershire,and curate of yarm.born september 1734 and died april 16th 1797

Great shot and crop of a beautiful stained glass window depicting what looks like Jesuus and disciples at a table, maybe The last supper? I notice that every town church in the UK these days has to protect them from vandals with this metal mesh on all windows although from your shot it is hard to notice it.

I like very much glass windows some churches has, some of them loosks magical. Excelent capture, nice details.
As Alan has already said it does look like it depicts 'The Last Supper', although I can only count eleven heads + Jesus. It would be fantastic if you could possibly get a shot from inside the church Mick. Saying that though you some times get rejected, ever since sony used the inside of a Cathedral for a game backdrop. I went to one church and was charged a fiver(£5.00) to take pictures on the inside, I didn't mind paying, it was the way it was said. The previous church I had left a fiver in the collection(poor box) anyhow. It's a great capture Mick but they look so much better when there is light shining through. Either a night shot from the outside when the lights are on or one from the inside with daylight shining through. Best to use a tripod as well. Excellent capture none the less and an excellent narrative to boot. Bravo!!!!!
