Description
Don't look TOO closely... this is as good as it gets! lol
I was out and about with my new lens one day. The cat came along to keep me company, as usual. He nearly blew my chances for a shot of this cardinal. I cannot believe she sat still for so long while she watched that cat approaching. I didn't dare move but extended the lens while clicking away. This was the least blurry image (but at 200mm!) ~ as I was panicking more than the bird! (Dang Cat!!)
Basically - I love the lens. AF-S Nikkor 18-200mm VR
The vote is still out on the cat...
Thanks for looking!
Jodie

very nice!! I checked your website, your portrait photographs are awesome!!
Fantastic capture and very creative realization, excellent lighting!
Great shot!
What a beautyshot!! And the bird looks so pretty and cute!! Fits so well in that environments, also with the colors!! Lovit!! :)
(I'm always getting to your photos late!) I know you took this under duress (from your cat), and in that tiny window-of-opportunity that the moment allowed, but you still caught not only the bird, but nature harmonizing with it, via reds, reds & reds. It's amazing all the accents that nature provided. I know, you might say it was an 'accident'. But as any photojournalist will say (who will get captures in a second that look like they took 2 weeks to 'set up'), your eye is working, working, working: And this wonderful little world of red-dapples makes this a beautiful menagerie of reds and their cousins. And if you asked the bird to pose better, she wouldn't have if you begged her. An intimate little revelation. And the cat's probably writing it's friends, "she complained about me on the web??? I got her a terrific shot, and she complains!" Magical, Odie. Grazie!
