Description
This tropical rainforest is in the privately funded 'Reserva Biologica Bosque Nuboso Monteverde' in the Cordillera de Tilaran in Costa Rica. The average elevation is about 4,500-ft. and the average high temperature is 18C. The average annual precipitation is 3000mm, with some areas receiving twice that amount. The platform from which I took this picture was almost 30 meters above the forest floor. This picture was taken on 9 December 2004 toward the end of the rainy season.

Wow Sig, your photography never ceases to amaze me, The dense vegitation gives a feel of hot damp atmosphere and I imagine noise from exotic birds and animals. You have been to some beautiful and far out places. Thanks for taking us there through your photography.
