Description
This is a basil plant from Ann's garden. She regularly pinches it back so it doesn't bloom. The idea is to grow basil, not flowers. Lucky for us, she missed one, and her basil flowered!

One time I missed some basil flowers, so I deadheaded them and made pesto anyway!! Big mistake, it tasted like perfume!! Good to smell, NOT to eat!! Vewy beautiful flowers, though and I'm glad she missed at least this one!!
Beautiful shot ! great macro ......... great eyes ! Never thought the flower could look this gorgeous & i have been planting basil for 8 years , every summer . Brilliant . Thanks for sharing ! ana

Wonderful cute little flowers, thanks for a miss from Ann and thanks for you for a great shot.
Gorgeous shot. Basil does go to seed quickly when it happens and it really changes the taste. This is a perfectly wonderful shot.

I really appreciate reading all the commentary on the basil. It's an education. Thanks for the fortuitously excellent photograph.
I really like the focus on this one. Very nice, Tara!
Very interesting narrative Tara, I did not know about pinching the flowers out. Excellent image, so Ann lost a little Basil, we gained some eye candy, I guess that evens things up. Bravo!!!!!

Wonderful capture!!!
Lush, vivid colors and sharp textures in this macro, Tara! When Basil Rathbone's parents were thinking of a name for their new born son, I wonder if this pretty plant influenced them in any way.
Such sweet little flowers on such a tasty plant. Excellent capture. Bunny
