Description
This is something I am doing as a request for someone... sort of a Warcraft elf thing, lol.
I am not really happy with the way this is going and I have spent way too much time spinning my wheels on this so I am looking for direction on composition, costume, things to add, things to take away, general critique, anything little thing would help and I would so appreciate it.

It looks like she is holding up the wall, IMO... and I have to echo what's already been said about the blood elves of Warcraft. That wall is way out of place/distracting from the character. Need to go with yellow/gold/purple flowy drape type things etc. (perhaps check out some screen shots of the blood elf city?) Also, her boots... I dunno, perhaps some matching greaves on her lower legs as has already been suggested might help there, or change the tops to match the gloves or something... they just don't quite fit. Other than that, this is a spectacular piece of work. You're still my #1 faveorite artist on here :D

Hey John... I'll admit I don't know the story behind her, but the blood elves always seemed to be a bit more arrogant to me. She appears, well, lost and depressed (which may be purposeful). ..and you don't like it "WHY!?" I really like the outfit :) But I think that the pillers and the detail on the outfit(you really should get together with a modeler and make thease for the rest of us;)) counter act each other. To much for the eye to take in. Maybe just a plain wall for the back ground. Just my thoughts. Beautful!! hugz

Don't do anything different. The camera angle and close up view is perfect w/the background wall. She's the real feature and ther hair and detailed clothing make it wonderful. The body language, facial expression and skin texture and awesome. The only thing missing is her phone number (smiles). She's a beauty. I'd call it complete and say, "job well done". Where did the excellent armor / crown come from! Has me drool'n to render!

This brings back memories from my World of Warcraft days =) I love blood elves and your depiction of one is fantastic. My only suggestion to you would be to do something with the background, either darken it so we would focus entirely on the blood elf, or change it to make it more 'fitting' to the character; as mentioned before, blood elves do associate better with marble, and also with brilliant colors (red being the dominant one). That is my only suggestion. Don't change a thing with the character, she is absolutely stunning and it's going in my favorites =) -Kim

Well there's certainly nothing wrong with the costume, that is absolutely awesome. I honestly can't tell if it's hand-painted or a 3D mesh. I agree with the comments about darkening the background, and I might try a stronger shadow against the wall (since the light on her seems to be fairly bright). Still, I feel silly giving you advice even when you ask for it, so let's just say it's what I might do if I had your skill. ;)
