This picture is dedicated to Myrtha Mason,a.k.a, Ravynsworld, who first came up with the idea of Mim and was gracious enough to allow me to take the character and run with her. Jeremy ________________________________________________ Mim is the always cheerful barmaid at the Wayside Inn. She lives with her Mam and Granny in a small house just outside the village. Mim usually arrives at the Wayside Inn just as the sun clears the horizon. She tends to be a bit lazy and slovenly at times, but can clean up well when she chooses to do so. It is often dark by the time she comes home--if she does come home. Although her beauty is fading, many men still find her attractive. Sometimes, one will ask her to spend the night with him. If she likes him and is not too exhausted by the day's work, she probably will. Besides, it helps augement Mim's meager income and she does have a family to support. Herrick, the owner of the Wayside Inn, has been teaching Mim everything he can about owning and running a successful tavern. Unknown to Mim, he is her father--the lovechild of a long liaison with her mother. Mim is his only child and he has secretly made a will that leaves the inn to Mim when he dies. Herrick worries that Mim might not be industrious enough or have enough business sense to hold onto the property, but he continues to mentor her in regard to the business. Sometimes, Mim seems indifferent to his gentle tutoring, but other times, she shows more interest and progress, so he holds onto that thin hope that she will eventully learn the business. He sometimes wonders if he should tell Mim about his will. Perhaps, if he did, she'd show more interest in what he told her.
