Description
I've always got my little camera stuck in a pocket or in hand when I go on my "walk abouts" out at the Hollow. These wild asters (think that's what they are) are in bloom and I was taking a photo of them when I saw something move. I couldn't believe my luck! There was a grasshopper, eating the petals of this beautiful flower! I couldn't get too close as I was afraid he'd leave, so this it folks. I would have liked a less busy background, but cropping was the quickest way.
You guys leave the best comments! I was so looking forward to reading them on the last post, "Gone camping - October sunset" when I got home! Thanks to all who stopped to look, and to those who left comments, and to those who faved it!

Fantastic shot!!!
At least the grasshopper has good taste lol-he picked a beautiful flower to munch on
outstanding macro even if I do not like them since they destroy so many crops and flowers.it is a beautiful hopper although.much more than the brown kind
Awww! Look at him! How adorable is this? What a brilliant, outstanding macro you've managed, Rita!!! You might say luck...I say definite skill involved as well, dear lady. Nope, nope, sorry...can't let you chalk this one up to sheer happenstance..shaking head firmly :P And, as always, it does my heart good to know you've had yet another peaceful Hollow get-away :)
Fabulous capture!!! I just have one question for you, Rita. Did you talk to grasshopper? Did he impart any sage wisdom, or a koan? He certainly looks like he is listening intently to your words. ;-) Hugs, Suzanne
Excellent shot, fantastic details and DOF. Beautiful colors too. Superbly done!
he right there eatting lunch. cool shot and postwork
Outstanding image!!! I love it!
great capture...
Close up is just great.
Ace photo Rita :)
A superb closeup of this lovely grasshopper !
Rita, this is just fantastic! I have been seeing these little fellas around lately but after this week I'm afraid they willl be gone. It was 93 degrees F while we camped last weekend and now it's so cold in my house, my fingers won't type properly. I keep backspacing and fixing my words, lol. Have to tell hubby to turn on the heat....brrrr.
Absolutely gorgeous..great capture! (for Autumn Colors) I have no program that converts pictures into fractals) Hope you had a good time at the camping! :)
Awesome shot-great face, i just hate their feet though. Thanks for a favorite!
Jiminy! Where you been? Great shot! ;)

I had learned a few years ago, to always have a camera ready at all times. You never know when you might see a prize picture moment. This is a great macro. I commend you for being on the ball. Love the POV too. Aloha
Great capture, I'd have been afraid he would have leaped at me and then I would be doing the silly girl dance...LOL
Amazing macro, well done!
Excellent macro!!
Impressively clear, vividly colorful, finely focused artistic capture, especially taken on the run, so to speak! Excellent work and a amazing viewing experience!!!
