Description
Nikon 7900 image.
Last week I noticed that a Goatweed Butterfly caterpillar was beginning to form this chrysalis and within a day it was complete. I have been watching it on a daily basis and hoping to capture the emergence of a new Goatweed Butterfly.
I will post any updates as they occur.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

Jeepers! This is so neat. I guess I'm not much of a bug person because I never see any of this stuff around here or on my hikes. This is so cool. great detail on the outside of it. I was watching my pregnant praying mantis for 3 weeks and on Thursday I figured she was going to do whatever mantis' do when the have babies. I was excited after putting so much time into it. The next day, she was gone. I haven't found her and I know she has to be in that area as they don't travel much. Darn. Next time maybe I get a bug box so I can watch it closer.
Very neat! I hope you get pictures of the emergence!
Waiting with you and keeping a good thought. The camo in this is amazing.
