Here's another Douglas Dauntless painted in 1944 colors. My previous post on page 5 of my gallery shows one in early 1942 colors. Anyway, Roland's grandad flew these in the Pacific War and he has a great render of a Dauntless flight in his gallery.

That's a beaut! What musuem is it at? Bomb looks a tad small for the Dauntless which I believe could carry a 500 pounder and a couple of 250's.
Oooops. A great place to visit in Galveston, TX is the Lone Star Flight Museum at Scholes Field. Looks like the wing bomb is a mock-up 100 pounder.
Very cool. And yes, my granddad would approve. Now if I can get D|S to throw a render out because I've got some other great airplanes to work with.
