Description
This was taken while 'up North' on vacation in Longville, Minnesota. Walking along the river (Little Boy River), I came upon this scene. Pretty, I thought; especially with the white Birch Tree, giving such a nice contrast to what I saw. I slowly walked closer towards them, taking shots as I went along. Just as I was getting happy with how close I was able to get to them, a little boy rushes towards me with his remote control boat and flings it in the river, SCARING THE DUCKS of course and then he starts that thing up and tears around in the river with it. I didn't know him at all; but omg, I wanted to cry. :( Nicely, though, I did say "cool boat!" He said thanks .. then I said "I hope you don't scare the ducks away .. " .. this was as they hopped off the log and took off down the river away from me. The kid was oblivious. Pfft...
Anyway, this is the best I could do.
Thanks for stopping by .. hope your weekend is going good; and hope now you have a great day!
Shari

beautiful Mallards and I usually scare the birds away myself
A wonderful wildlife scene, Bravo! This needs surely a long focal length, nice sunday for you!
The white tree truly catches the eye and throws a nice reflection, too. Excellent find & capture! Love your presentation as well.
Beautiful work!
Lovely shot, like the silver reflection of the birch in the water. I have never seen ducks balance on trees before, well spotted. Pity about the young brat, sorry child, I would have been tempted to Duck him.
Beautifult erland
I'm sorry; I didn't mean to put this under photography/macro :( If anyone knows how to move it, please do, if u want.
A wonderful shot and I liked the way you cropped and presented your work..
You were nicer to the kid then I would have been. :) Seriously, nice shot.
Very excellent capture none the less!!

It was great to do the close crop! It makes a perfect composition for high lighting the birds. ;)

Wonderful Colours in this group of ducks. Big work my friend
I think this is Wonderful!!! I love how the female ducks are deciding if they want to join the males in the cold water...hehe Or maybe they are just playing "hard to get!" It's a terrific shot Shari and your story made me giggle...hehehe
