Description
One of the things I love most about these eagles is the amazing changes the bird exhibits as it matures from the amazing bright colours with a Red face as an adult to Brown when a juvenile, to this green faced mid tones of a bird around 6 years old
The Bateleur (Terathopius ecaudatus) is a medium-sized eagle in the bird family Accipitridae which also includes many other diurnal raptors such as buzzards, kites and harriers. It is the only member of the genus Terathopius and probably the origin of the "Zimbabwe bird", national emblem of Zimbabwe.
Once again thanks for taking time to look and any comments you care to make

A powerful depiction of this beautiful bird. Fascinating how it goes through color changes as it matures. Your capture is, as usual, spot on. Bravo!
Excellent shot, fantastic details and expression!
You just keep stunning me with things I never knew existed! This is an incredible bird and you got the right pov and light to show it's attributes off. :-) I love the puffed feathers, the touch of yellow in the beak, the set of the corners of the mouth and the "I mean business" expression. Stellar.
