Description
Using Poser and Vue to produce an Illustration for a pretend childrens magazine that might have existed circa 1970 (Look and Learn). Photoshop for postwork, text, and compositing. Credits to lots of Daz Mikes', a Poser 4 horse, manoloz helmet and some Poserstyle clothing. Thanks for looking.

I am grinning like the proverbial cat. That little box about Airfix kits and Beatties has taken me back more decades than I care to admit. "Look and Learn" magazine, Airfix, Tamiya, Humbrol paints, Meccano..... Excellent work. Thank you for raising my Friday morning!
Very authentic - brava!
Nicely done! Airfix - never got the hang of that damn glue.
very creative idea and excellent concept

It's really great work! You did a very nice job making this,putting it together.Good idea,good execution(;
Great job! I think I actually owned that one ;-)
I used to get Look and Learn as a kid and this really is reminiscent of that great mag. Love the way you do what you do mate, keep em coming.
Well done :)
just great! wonderful idea to add the Airfix Ad, takes me back, too...
You're the only person on this site, to my mind that can bring poser to life. What I mean by that is your models have great expressions on their faces. They're not just mannequins. Your scenes have movement. The way you add notes and other little Easter eggs is wonderful. Gosh! I could go on. (You are the Master!) I will eagerly look for your future post. 5+
Airfix - ah yes, I remember it well!! I remember being very disappointed when my son was born to dicover that "Look & Learn" was no longer published - a great shame! Excellent image, you have got some very life-like poses there, and the overall composition is excellent. Also great post-work to that that paper page look to it.
Your work never ceases to amaze me! You are absolutely one of my favorite artists here and I look forward to each of your new pictures. Everything in this picture is outstanding. The artwork is great and the execution is flawlesss! Keep them coming! Thanks!
Marvelous idea and superb realization !
really nice work, and a blast from the past !
Great original render.
What a fantastic idea!! :)
Stunning cover art, top work on the posing and the scene in general.
Once again you have reached a new high water mark (pun optional) in smashing pixels into submission to pose as a four-colour printing process without suffering any nasty quantizing. Even the noise running through the blacks urges me to believe that I'm looking at an old comic illustration. I especially like your use of silhouettes to create layers of depth and encourage everyone to imagine 100's of people without having to render out that amount. Sadly, I'm a compulsive SOB doomed to look for faults (esp. in my own work) so I will briefly mention there seems to be a slight trace of aliasing in important elements like the central figures sword and cape, and a few other places. I will leave it to you to obsess over it or not. Always a pleasure, don
Exceptional work. Very creative use of both apps!
