Description
I won't keep you in suspense. These are styrofoam balls, perhaps five inches across, covered in feathers. They have string loops on them that enable one to hang them as ornaments. Some of you will not be surprised that they belong to my friend Ann.
Now I want credit where it's due, folks! Ann does not live within walking distance of me, as some of you have imagined. When I sally forth to obtain interesting images to share with you, I'm making quite an effort on your behalf! It takes me 30 to 45 minutes to drive to Ann's place, and it's not on the way to anywhere else, either. I'm making a special trip just for you, and I want you to be suitably impressed by my dedication! (Aren't we supposed to suffer for our art or something?)
Many of the photos I've shared with you have come from my general neighborhood area - I won't lie to you. But not the shots from Ann's place. I know some of you believe I have quite a garden, but that's not true either. While I'm out taking pictures, the weeds are taking over my garden! It's pretty pathetic, actually. I used to have a lovely garden. It's still there, it's just covered in horsetails and buttercups.
Oh, by the way: I clone-stamped the feathers onto the frame in Photoshop. I don't have any fancy framing plug-in thingies.

excellent work
Very cool and excellent shot and nice frame.
Very stunning work and capture and subject. I thought maybe they were halved gourds. Good eye.
I love this, it's perfect. As to the frame, well I reckon you don't need any fancy plug-in thingies!
Like stripes of a Tiger......Beautiful. Aloha
Beautiful !
they are really pretty...very unusual trinkets...lovely shot, am glad you make the effort of the drive to share these and others with us!
Beautifuly captured it makes nice abstract image.
great capture
Wonderful! Maybe a bit too heavy on the frame, that competes somewhat with the image.
WOW ! It is fantastic. And a cool frame too :)))
Awesome idea!!! Great image!!! And I like the general "ground" colour!!!
They look a little like birds rolled up:-) I like feather patterns, they are so interesting!
Wow Cool
Such a martyr...oy :o) seriously, I so do appreciate all the time invested, dear Tara...and you did an ultra fantastico job with this one, clone stamp n all :o) I've seen those feathered balls before and they're way cool, eh Have a good one ! Hugs n Stuff ~
Amazing capture !
Stick together. Great lighting effects, colors, POV, beveling and framework in this composition, Tara! Thank you for explaining the true nature of these objects in the photo. Actually, I didn't know that these weren't real avians at first. I kept looking for their heads! And, I had no idea that Ann lived so far from you. A neighbor, in my urban parlance, is anyone who lives within two blocks of my abode. As for your garden, nature marches on!
Tara...... I bow down in your presence dear, true dedication from such a great artist - I am not worthy!! But you do this for us and I am honoured that you go to such lengths to keep us enjoying the pleasure of your art. Amazing photo and great work on the frame too. Hugs. xx
