Description
The Black Kite is considered to be the most succesful raptor in the world by its numbers and frequents considerable areas of the world from Australia to Europe and Africa.. Darker in colour than its Cousin the Red Kite, with a slightly less forked tail giving it great aerial skills often able to catch such things as insects on the wing and able to tranfer its meal from claw to beak on the fly!

It's always a wonder to see one in flight in this way, and another superb capture. Just want to tell you that I have got the time for the moment to be there.... but don't worry, I'll came back as soon as possible ;o)))) Hugs my friend, and take care. Nathalie

wow this is fabulous, not sure where you find all of these wonderful birds, so glad you can provide us such great views!
WOWWWW !!! So impressiv capture on this magestic bird !!! Good day :)
An amazing picture... I am deeply impressed.
Not convinced that it's a Black Kite. The heavily barred and rounded tail and the fairly broad wings suggest a Buteo species to me (something like a Common Buzzard, Buteo buteo). It's a fantastic photograph, anyway; beautifully sharp on the face.
Excellent shot.
Beautiful shot again here....WOW
