Description
Actually this TTC streetcar has only just entered the Queensway as it crosses Roncesvalles Avenue. Here is the meeting point for trackage of The Queensway, Roncesvalles Avenue, Queen Street, King Street and the Roncesvalles Car Yard - directly behind me as I shot this photo. This intersection is regarded as the most complex streetcar interchange in North America. The interchange is actually three separate multi-direction unions within less than a block of each other. This large number of switches in such a short space requires all rail vehicles to travel slowly through the intersection making it a favourate place for transit buffs (such as myself) to photograph streetcars.
In the photo, car 4180 is running westbound on the Queen Line (Route 501). It has just left Queen Street and is moving onto The Queensway as it heads to Long Branch at the western edge of the City of Toronto. Also in this photo, we have CLRV 4114 running on the King Line (Route 504). This car will curve onto Roncesvalles and head north to Dundas West Subway Station on the Bloor-Danforth Line.
Sorry if you notice some distortions or imperfections in the image. I had to shrink this picture to make it fit into the file size limitations for this site.
But thank you all for taking a view today. And thanks to everyone for their comments on my previous postings here at Renderosity.

An excellent capture! I know this location well. Keep 'em comin! :B eaver !
And this is why I live in Mississauga (less congestion LOL)!! This is wonderful that you can truly capture out transit system this way!! Excellent shot!!
I mentioned to a workmate the other day, that we needed somebody "strong like bull, smart like streetcar" His response was "I didn't know streetcars were smart" pretty funny huh! Seems as though this car knows where it's going though. Fabulous city life shot of Parkdale, nice work indeed.
well, heck this goes to the Longbranch saloon and Miss Kitty and Marshall Dillon.hee haaa!!!
Fantastic shot, great!
I really miss Toronto. I am glad they still have the streetcars! Great shot!

Excellent street and traffic scene Clayton, looks like a busy junction there. Well done!
Excellent!
As much as I love this photo, I really hate driving over those dammed tracks whenever I head into the city! Great shot!
Great pic .... look at the Torontonians coming out to comment! (Downtown guy myself) LOL
Great shot Clayton, I also appreciate your narrative on the scene. Thanks for your comments on my series at the National Tramway Museum, Crich, UK. The Museum and all it's exibits is maintained by volunteers If you get the time have a look at their website at http://www.tramway.co.uk/ some good stuff. Thanks for sharing this! Bravo!!!!!
One suggestion when you this photo again is to pick the day and time when there is less traffic there at this site. The viewers can see more what you telling about. I found it is usely it is on a saturday morning when most of the car drivers are not going to work and trolly system is up and running then.
COOL SHOT HERE TOO ;-)
