Description
The realization that fall was here didn't hit me until I went to the pond a few days ago. It was cold, there were no frogs, the trees above our heads were bare. There's just something about fall that renders everything eerie.
This photo has been postworked quite a bit, but it was alot of effort for not much effect -- it doesn't look that different than how it started. Mostly it's just more contrasty, which I like, and I used part of the leaf near the top to fill in the overly-glared center of the middle leaf. Not nearly enough to justify putting it in the Mixed Medium gallery (I figure that you can do a fair amount of postwork and still put it in the Photography gallery if said postwork is only to enhance what's already there, as opposed to add something new or alter it drastically).

Agree,postwork is essential...faithful to the shot is all that matters and yes,this is lovely...really like the "contrast" with the barbed wire....look,it caught a small one,cool!

Wow/ One of my favorites so far, the compostion is spectacular. Looks like a big "A"! Kind of missing the frogs, though, hope they are happily hibernating.
This is a very impressive photo. I love the barbed wire next to the leaf, it's a nice contrast, like rough and mellow.
I quite like this - especially with the idea of nature vs civilisation (or well, barbed wire that is) ... I'm pleased that you snap this instead of finding somewhere without the barbed wire - so kudos to you! :) Tina
