Description
When I first saw this scene I thought of Stonehenge in England.. This is not Stonehenge of course. It has not either been used as a place of warship...no, far from that. So, was is it what you see. well... short after the last Iceage that hit Europe temperatures rised and trees were able to grow in that climate. So were the oak trees. Eightthousand years ago a vast wood of oak trees was spread over what is now called 'the Netherlands'. Many trees died.. some of them saved after their death..covered with the sand of the enormous rivers (melting water of the gletschers). Tho shortcut this story: a large amount of this eightthousand years old trees was found en erected nearby the river were they were found. A statue that reminds us of a long gone world.
