Finally, as threat, ah, promised. Another skyline shot. The interesting thing about this is the difference in sky 'texture.' The earlier shots were to the west where the sky was clearing up... finally. However, the cooler air had not reached the center of town and the setting sun backlit all that 'stuff' that passes for air in summer. Interesting architectural features are the shot tower. This is the chimney-like structure about a third of the way from the left. What is a shot tower? Where they made shot of course! This one is about 1M bricks, it's tall, and molten lead would pour from the top. As a liquid falls, it's shape becomes more perfectly spherical. At the bottom of the tower is a tank of water to cool the lead balls so they retain their shape. Various tallish buildings are added to the skyline. Mercifully not all are glass and steel monstrosities. Some evoke the styles of bygone years and add to the character of the place.
