"The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives." ~ Albert Einstein
"The unconscious mind is decidedly simple, unaffected, straight-forward and honest. It hasn't got all of this facade, this veneer of what we call adult culture. It's rather simple, rather childish. It is direct and free." ~ Milton H. Erikson
"The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this: A human creature born abnormally, inhumanly sensitive. To him... a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a lover, a lover is a god, and failure is death. Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpowering necessity to create, create, create -- so that without the creating of music or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning, his very breath is cut off from him. He must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency he is not really alive unless he is creating." ~ Pearl S. Buck
"It takes a certain maturity of mind to accept that nature works as steadily in rust as in rose petals." ~ Esther Warner Dendel
Another rusting hulk I found beneath the forest boughs in Woodbridge, Connecticut. I'm not sure of the exact my, but guessing from the missing letter, it looks like it says EIGHT, so perhaps an Oldsmobile '88? What drew me to this image is the vast expanse of rusty trunk with the rear ornament still being in pretty decent and colorful condition. ----- Thank you for your self-conscious comments on my last upload, Bashful. Sorry, I did not lift the tarp and peak beneath to see what car it was exaclty. Sometimes it is more fun not to know. :)

So you are wondering what year this old car was made ? Or the model. Wasnt there an Oldsmobile 88 way back when. lol. Great image. Looks like it is buried in amongst the leaves.
another great find !
Saweeet shot here mate!!! Love it! The colors in that are amazing! :) Excellent compo, exposure and all ;) Thanks for sharing! Oh and a belated congrats one the nomination ;)
So you mean that when my wife calls me a 12 year-old with a mortgage, it's a compliment? LOL! Love todays quotes!! Einstone, Einsteen, Einstein!! Lovely close-up!! the textures are marvelous!!!
I like the abstract feel to this.Wonderfully composed,Kortalouche.Once again, you have captured a unique pic depicting the poetic side of the passage of time.Love the Pearl S. Buck quote.Have a great day!-M :^)
Collective input --creative minds willingly spill their energy into a pool of harnessed talents --for one reason --exspanding those known limit's ,then adding another stepping stone for those yet to be...Rust growing ,on a rose petal --or the trunk ,,another pepple has been lain down ...Love the shot !!
wowwww, is very good this work and i feel the strange sensation for this old time.... Excellent my friend!!! Good day and hugs ;)
AWESOME!! :)
Nice shot, it's not an Oldsmobile but a 1948 Buick Fastback, just in case you wanted to know.
I like your shot! Great look and feel to it. I also like your introspective thoughts. That Pearl Buck quote is so true! It reminds me of the pianist....I have always said that no matter how oppressive the conditions...no matter how outwardly hopeless...the the creative ones must still create. Create or die. :o)b
Wow, that paint job is the same as my Subie ! hehehe, another kool dinosaur shot ! Cheers
So much work went into those oldies, Great Shot!!
(1)As Einstein understood, "Truth and Beauty " were Greek in origin, and as several moderns have said, turning an ancient Egyptian in Herodotus on his hoary, supercilious head, the Greeks were always children. Too, as I may be the first to say in the same context, it was the Greeks taught at least some Romans how to have FUN, hehe; (2)nonsense--the so-called "unconscious" has nothing to do with the matterare all Eriksons idiots?(3)sounds like Hume's description of Rousseau; (4)no: "maturity" is the wrong word, and puts it strictly in the context of "aging", which is silliness, particularly if you are a Greek, understand the gist, and remain always a child. Oh the pic--superb: looks like some decorated veteran or badged diplomat or politician--it is a simple matter to understand how, in such cases, the front and rear ends may appear to be interchangeable, especially when most of that ilk have no idea whether they are coming or going....
Wonderful capture! What an interesting find in the woods. Love the quotes! Another from good old Al: "Imagination is more important than knowledge."
so many rusting cars out there waiting for the right person and a big bank roll to restore
you did a good shot and post work. wow how it rusted so fast. cool image
I don't recal ever seeing a olds 88 having something other than a rocket as a ornament, certainly not since the sixties. Great shot, love the crop, and I really like the color of this. Fab artwork!!!
