Pose and skin tones are great - only nit-pic (pun) would be the slightly overpowering highlights on the lower dock beam which compete for one's initial focus... also might crop a little tighter. But then we all know what opinions are like. Net-net a great shot.

These beautiful smiles make for a beautiful image. The lighting may be a bit strong, but it does make them stand out. I could also see an argument to crop a bit tighter... right side especially. The only thing that really jumps out at me for sure is the strong shadow under the lady's left eye. Very nice setting indeed. Way to go.

Yes, nice to see such a happy shot posted! We often shy away from posting family and similar things. I like the lighting. Still, I wonder if a little fill, just a tiny bit would have lightened the shadow a bit. Then again, that might have taken away from this lovely shot.

I used a very large (5' gold reflector) to try and lighten the shadows but could not get them all. Perfect capture. You should go into advertising. Next time try doing an HDR (by bracketing).

Great portrait. I think I would zoom in a bit more...and maybe move moms face just a bit to avoid shadow. Over all I really like it though. I am sure they will love it.
