Description
"I live in a cucumber castle On the bank of a cranberry sea And starfish dance under my drawbridge And black birds make nests in my tree I live in a purple plum mansion In the midst of a strawberry stream And mel-lif-erous bells ring out softly From a hill of vanilla fudge cream" -select lyrics from I Enjoy Being A Boy (In Love With You) by The Banana Splits
The photo of a glass Chihuly orb floating in a pond makes me think of these lyrics from that bubblegum psycadelic classic. It has been covered by REM, Rank Amateurs, Pink Filth, They Might Be Giants, and countless others. A 60's Saturday morning Sid and Marty Krofft Hanna-Barbera cartoon, there was no "real" Banana Splits. Does this have anything to do with a peice of glass art floating in a pond? Not really. I just liked the lyrics. 8'D ----- Thanks for your shimmery comments on my last upload, Dwarf in the Blue - Horus Kissed.

Great ripples and tastey GUM! GREAT WORK!!
strange and unusual! a pleasure for the eyes
The Krofft Brothers and CTW (with Jim Henson) produced the only truly worthwhile childrens programs of the '70s. They really tapped into the wonder of childhood, as few have done before or since. Your photo is evocative of that era, all right -- one expects to see the Bugaloos flit by this bauble at any time!
