Description
A very hastily taken photograph of one of the five towers of Angkor Wat in Siem Reap province, Cambodia.
This was shot after a very shakey ascent up one of the oldest and steepest stone staircases I have ever climbed. Even after almost 900 years, constructed during the reign of Suryavarman (1112-1152), this religious shrine has not lost its power to humble and inspire.

Yes, I remember this one well. Had to ascend and descend it sort of sideways. I'm looking forward to a revisit to the entire region in 2008. I really did not trust those steps, but they've been there for a long, long time. Thanks for sharing.
does anyone else see the face that appears to be part of the structure? or is it just me? really neat looking place and i like the camera angle :) you should recreate it in bryce or something ;)
