Description
This image was commisioned for issue 4 of Imagine FX magazine, and is the subject of a tutorial I produced.
The aim of the picture and tutorial, was to recreate something resembling the work of the classic artist, Maxfield Parrish (one of my all time favourites). However, as well as creating it in the style of his kind of scene, I also decided to adapt his painting technique to the digital realm - ie, start with a monochrome blue and white detail base, and layer multiple transparent glazes of pigment to colourise it. He would have used oil paints, varnish and canvas, and I used Bryce for the scene and Photoshop for all the layering, and colourising.

Very nice Adam. Love Max Parrish. Did a childrens TV series called Mother Goose Stories in the '80s which used his style.
