Lovely soft light and shade. That quilt, however, looks generic enough to wonder whether:(1) it is genuine Acdaian;or (2) Acadians had distinctive quilts designs of their own when this one was made.
I heard that the 'Cajun' music comes from the word Acadian. Is this so? And that 'Zydeco' music comes from the French word for beans (des haricots), from a popular Acadian song about not having salt to put on the beans. Are these well-known facts there? To me it was new and I found it kind of interesting... Great shot, Jock!

I grew up in a house like this and your picture is so good, it even brings back the smell of wood and wax polish. The low lighting is authentic.

Sure - This reminds me of my grandparent's old home
It's supposed to give some rootedness to see the same balloon frame houses with glass sashes we remember from our childhood at grandmas. The flowering bushes outside the window are as unkempt as always. School?!!
