I live in the land of the disappearing ice and snow, and however you want to cut it...it's vanishing. The Arctic ice pack is shrinking and the Tundra is melting - I know, 'cause I lived on the Tundra in the early 60's. Regardless of the "cause"...we should take pains to not ADD to the situation. that's just common sense to anyone with a high school science education. :-))

Yeah I agree I think it's going to get worse before it gets worse in regards to mama earth. But we will change and bring it back. Humans are fast adapters and are capable of remarkable change in a short amount of time. In the meantime we have your fabulous image! Great work! :D

Well we all know what we humans have done to the earth. I guess my next question would be , what department is this guy in? It is a major issue and as you show here , this iceberg looks too close for comfort ! Your design shows just what we need to worry about really. Great work and something that all humans should not ignore !!~******~!!

we had no winter to speak of.. use to be ppl moved down here to be warm.. now more ppl are moving North cuz it's too frickin hot!!! :P sure the ramifications of destroying the ozone has only had the surface scratched.. a domino effect, the tip of the iceberg.. to ultimate destruction..

You know what? I decided a long time ago that the debate over global warming is really academic. In the end, it doesn't matter if it's real or not. What matters is that spewing all those chemicals into the air certainly isn't a good thing. Even if it's not harming the atmosphere, it's harming us. So I personally think we should assume it's real and act accordingly. Err on the side of caution and all that. Although as far as climate warming, I'm not seeing it here in New England. This was the first year since the 80s that we didn't get clobbered with major snow. Did I mention I hate snow? lol. hugs V

I recently saw a documentary of a man who has been mapping the ice in the Artic or Antartic for thirty five years and he was terrified by the changes he has seen in the last few years. It seriously is time for man to turn to solar power and the power of the sea. I hate to see humans destroy the enviroment they live. Yes, there are natural cycles. The Cistercian monks used to grow grapes in 1200 where I lived in Scotland.But things seem to be speeding up.We are living in the submerged 7/8ths.

SO, interesting thought for those who subscribe to evolutionary theory...it would appear that, if you so subscribe, man has evolved to a point where he is no longer controlled by the environment which spawned him. Thus, according to those who believe that should the global warming trend continue mankind is at risk of extinction, man has evolved beyond the capacity of evolution to keep the species alive. (While the dinosaurs could not evolve fast enough to escape the ice age, that was not "caused" by them while many believe man is "causing" global warming.) Should we thus conclude that our physical and reproductive capabilites have "out evolved" our brains? Perhaps glaobal warming is the arena in which we will find out. Cool pic by the way. I know many have had something to say about the subject. I was going to add my concerns but instead will tell you that I had a good laugh about the situation and then cried that such blindness is around. No wonder we cannot stop it with individuals who are not concerned.
