Description
This is a charicature of one of my favorite tv characters, Deputy Barney Fife, played by Don Knotts. Don passed away on Friday at age 81. I've always wished I could leave the real world and live in Mayberry. Maybe someday I'll get to go fishing with Barney and Andy.
**** This is supposed to be much more of a cartoon representation, than an exact likeness. I find it very difficult to do charicature work with Poser. I made the hat, bullet and badges and used Questor's revolver. Rendered in Bryce and then worked it hard in Photoshop

I hadn't heard about Don, what an amazing man. This is a very nice tribute. Looks kind of like claymation. I don't think there is a soul who won't look at this a have a fond memory visit them. Thanks again Froggy! :)
Great character comedian. He will be missed.
Thank you for the tribute. This is a wonderful likeness and does indeed bring back very fond memories. I wonder just how many of us there are that wish they could live in Mayberry. I've always wished it, and so has my wife.
One of my favorite actors, yes, he will be missed. I think we all would like to live in Mayberry. This is a wonderful tribute and image. ;-)
Don was my favorite star on t.v when I was growing up, and I had the honor of seeing him live at a A.C casino 8 years ago. I miss him allready.
A most excellent tribute to a very fine entertainer. I'm glad I got to see this. :)
Nice Job! I will miss Don. KP
A great tribute to Don. I see that Andy let him get his bullet out for this portrait, perhaps the greatest tribute of all!
Excellent man! A fine tribute. He made me laugh till it hurt many times. Glad we have reruns to see his magic in the future too. Again, really nice work and I am sure he would be happy with it. RIP!
Great tribute1 Nice Job dude! :B eaver !
Oh I just had to come by and see this. Such a glorious tribute. You know, you should really forward this to "the shrine of Don Knotts". This would make an great addition to the site. Yes, he will be missed. He was such a genuine soul. I know he looks down at you and smiles warmly with pride. ~Michelle~
Excellent likeness and tribute.
You know in this piece you not so much show the comic side of Don {Deputy Barney Fife} as the serious side that most never saw wtching that show. I think any of us older guys can relate to living in Mayberry and playing with Opie Excellent work
One great funny and nice man that I will miss.
Nice work. Good touch with him holding his solitary bullet. I think Don would have really dug this.
One bullet is all you ever need if you never use it! That's real cute! Will there ever be another like him? I doubt it. Good work.
"We got to nip it. Nip it in the bud!" Thanks for the pic. Bye, Don.
FANTASTIC!
i don't know the actor, but this portrait has a lot of character to it.
excellent dedication and likeness of a very fine comic actor. Darren McGavin died also. both played in a movie together. I always wanted a haircut from Floyd
I only wish there were some way Andy Griffith could get to see your wonderful tribute to Don Knotts!
Very nice portrate of Don, well deserved.
Nicely done! Yep, that's him all right. Gone but not forgotten. :-)
A fine tribute! I always loved the Andy Griffith Show, and Don Knotts was always a favorite in our family. You did this extremely well. I believe the effect you desired, you received. :o)
Great tribute, excellent work. Thanks for the grins and giggles Don!
Nice work. Really well done :)

LOL...Knew this was yours, as soon as i gazed across the page. Good likeness! Oh, and don't forget about Aunt Bee's apple pies. 8=Q
OH WOW! I reconized him even before I clicked the thumbnail! I did not know he passed away. He was one of my favorite actors. I will miss him very much. Thank you for the tribute! Brovo work!
Fantastic! A favorite of mine too, he lived a good long life! I used to have a cockatial(sp) that had learned to whistle the Mayberry theme from his original owner who watched it constantly. After I acquired the bird, and he didn't hear the toon as often, he would get stuck in one verse for days...too cute. Great character Dave! (=
