Just an old forgotten crop duster airplane that was used to fertilize the sugarcane when it was flourishing in Hawaii. Aloha and thank you for viewing

I can hear the roar of their engines swooping down on fields then quickly increase their height to make a quick turn and all over again. very interesting subject. I enjoy watching the crop duster dare devils
I miss seeing these flying over the sugar cane fields. Like the sugar cane trucks, these served their purpose during our sugar boom in Hawaii. Sad to see it wind up like this...nice find! Aloha!
wow great find!! mmm,... i love sugar cane used to go to mexico and get it fresh i bet its so good over there.. getting off trac here... wonderful histroy here should be in a museam!...well seen and shot!
very good find here . A part of history
Cool image of day past:):)..V
It is an Emroth Emair MA-1B bi-plane. Looked up the registration in the NTSB database and it was blown off the runway at Pahala and down an embankment Dec 5,1995. It also listed 3 other accidents of this type one fatal when a wing seperated in 1985.
Very cool old plane for sure, cool shot.
Old? It was built in 1978, the year I graduated from high school. I remember Marsh Aviation got one in 1977 and they still have it going, they've switched out the original R1820 (1200hp derated to 900hp) for one of 1475hp. These were built out of Stearman parts so parts of them are old, I guess.
Pity those past times... very fine shot !
I've always loved walking in to things like this from our past...great find. excellent...POV...some great history there
Welcome to the 21th century chuter. Time sure flies huh? Aloha
Pity to see these machine as prey of rust... Wonderful capture, Errol! :)
Cool shot of these rusty oldies, They should maintain them for the future ... toys for the boys. Have a nice day, Henk
absolutely fantastic light on this errol and love the perspective.. superb !!!!
Here's to the fading memories!!!!!!!! nice find Errol!!!!
When I first moved here, I used to see them crop dusting in the area. Where is this, old airport? Didn't think they still had these relics laying around.
Yes old and foegotten, they served thier perpose but those choppers across the way look ready to go.
Stella...Yes, the planes are located at the old airport. This particular plane was damaged as mentioned by vkoontz. There are older planes that were kept in good conditons at least for a while (Murray). They may have it in the Hanger. Peter..as far as the choppers, there are civilian and military choppers that usually park there....not sure which one on this particular day. Aloha
I love shots like this!! Stories sitting there waiting to be told if only the planes could talk. Very awesome composition.
Super shot. Plenty of good parts here for salvage or maybe a rebuild.
Wow real cool. A airplane grave yard it look to be. :) I don't remember hitting on this image but sure am glad it popped up. Love your gallery thanks. :)
My husband would have loved this shot. He loved airplanes. My son has his pilot's license and at least my husband got to go flying 5 times with him before he died. Everytime a airplane goes overhead I say my husband is flying it.
i wish i can have DSL to look all your gallery, there is one thing of many that i like from yor gallery, is the sequence of them, day by day. Have a great Surf at Waimea! "desde el Caribe con pasion y bendiciones"
