Description
This is the little lake at the bottom of the wall visible in yesterday's posting. Not the best picture of the lake, but I wanted to show the lines in the ice. I doubt that they're actually called rings, but each one represents a year, just as with tree rings. The brown is dirt that falls onto the ice during the summer, and the white is the snow that covers it the next winter.
I'll have to post some broader views to give everyone a better idea of the overall look of the place.
Thanks for stopping by and any comments.

Neat-o! Thanks for sharing this.
Well, that is so cool. Learn something new every day. Thank you.
Wow.. interesting POV....
nebver saw something like this
Oh wow, this is IMPRESSIVE! I guess the rings are simply layers that are bent here, and it shows the annual precipitation, with a layer of pebbles and dust in between! So... you can see the age of the glacier by counting the layers! Gorgeous work, love to see the glaciers entering the water! :)
This is a great picture and we get an added bonus of a good geological lesson.
WOW! I am impressed, I learned something new today....lol Wonderful photo and beautiful view!..
