Description
Call me crazy, but I've always loved the look of the wheels on railcars. Their texture, the way they wear on the rails, the simple design. I finally decided to just capture it; the watercolor look seemed to fit it best and make the texture and shadows come out.

Interesting details and colors. Fantastic textures!!!
splendid watercoloring ,The capture carries miles of stories
These are not the older common "journal" bearings with boxes stuffed with oil soaked cotton waste for lubricants but the one Timkne mad a movie to promote and sent to high schools for lunch time audio visual programs. At the end of the moive as the cars rattle off screen a chant begins, "roller freight, roller freight, roller freight!!" There is a joy in looking at the trucks of an E-9 (or even E-3) Electromotive diesel with the three axle A-1-A where the center axle is roller.
You, tallpindo, are clearly more knowledgeable than I. I think they're pretty nice, but I didn't know anything about their history. Interestingly, these were on a flatcar, not a loco. They were put with three trucks at each end of the car, rather than the traditional set of two at each end. That's what first caught my eye.
