I just watched that myself.  This is why people don't realize how deep and far ahead of the competition Maya really is.  Maya is still a decade ahead of any other software when it comes to animation.  It has decades of super high-end studio requirements backing its features. It's one of the only "off-the-shelf" software to have decades of expandability and compatibility with the most exclusive animation and FX studios on earth.  Maya is still the king.

First good to see you old friend it has been a while.  I agree Maya still is at the forefront of animation superiority and I think one of the wisest things they have done in recent years is the institution of their Indie licensing which if you make less that 100K a year you can actually get full version of Maya for $330 a year which is so much more reasonable and putting that power in so many more hands to potential grow their future studios with
