Great info Vangogh! Some people told me that contacting Daz could resolve the problem too.

You can also send DAZ a proof of purchase ( official word by DAZ) and Daz will put the SN permanently into your Daz account. There was a big thread about the book release with that topic in it and a few others about the SN. You may want to look in the new promotions forum where DAZ decided to put all those threads instead of the commons.
Attached Link: Here;s a direct link to the .zip file download.
Thanks for the info **vangogh.

I recently bought the book "figures, Characters and avatars. The offical guide to using Daz Studio to create beautiful art" from Amazon because it contains a CD with full versions of Carrara pro 6.2, Hexagon 2.5, DAZ studio and 3d character files. I was mainly interested in Carrara pro and loaded it onto my computer. Everything was going fine until the installer asked me for a serial #. At which point I started a long search looking at all the files on the CD, looking through the book from cover to back, looking at the purchase order from Amazon and even going to DAZ itself to find that elusive #. No mention anywhere of how to get that #. So I noticed that there was a website address printed on the back of the book and tried going there, a site called 'www.courseptr.com. No indication on their home page of where to go for help, but I decided to click on 'downloads' at the top of the page and this took me to a page where I could type in the name of the book which took me to a page with info about the book and another button labeled 'download updates' where there is a single text file labeled 'errata.zip'. This text file has the serial #'s for all the apps on the CD.
