Carrara 5 Pro used to work, I had a bit of a problem with a harddisk and it stopped working.

So I uninstalled, reinstalled, reapplied the service packs.

And now it still does not work, the splash screen appears briefly then disappears.

Any ideas?

Ah ha, I've finally worked it out.

There's a folder called:

C:Documents and SettingsMyUserApplication DataEoviaCarrara 5

This contains user settings and hence is not removed when the application is uninstalled. I renamed this folder and reran the Carrara and it worked fine.

Deleting that folder will let Carrara start up.  Then reset preferences to rebuild that folder.
